Christmas Trees
We supply small bare-rooted conifers suitable for planting out as christmas trees between November and March. Typically plants are between 20 and 40cms tall and can be harvested as a 5-6 foot christmas tree after a period of between 6 to 10 years.
Planting and Maintenance
Trees should be planted in pure groups at 1 metre centres into clean ground. Keep the plants weed free by spraying with a broad spectrum herbicide and, if necessary, fence against rabbits. Checks for signs of aphid damage in the spring. Species growth rates vary considerable depending upon weed competition, insect damage and pruning. Typically you can expect to harvest Norway Spruce trees within 5-6 years, other species such as Nordman Firs can take longer
